About NIELIT
National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology(NIELIT) (Formerly DOEACC Society) is an autonomous body of the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication & Information Technology, New Delhi, Govt. of India. The Society is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The objective of the scheme is to generate high quality man-power in the computer software and allied fields by utilizing the expertise and facilities available with various institutions in the non-formal sector. NIELIT is the only professional examination body in India, which accredits Computer courses in ‘O’ , ‘A’ , ‘B’ & ‘C’ level approving institutes / organizations for conducting particular course, specializing in the non-formal sector of IT education and training.

Structure of NIELIT ‘O’ Level Course
Name : NIELIT ‘O’ Level (Foundation course in Computer Application)
Eligibility : 10+2 passed or ITI Certificate passed (one year after class 10)
Duration : 1 year (Semester System- 2 Sem)

Recognition
Recognition has been given by the Government of India to DOEACC ‘O’ level examination conducted by the DOEACC Society as equivalent to Foundation Course in IT for the purpose of employment to the posts and services under Central Government.
Scholarship
NIELIT has introduced a Scholarship Scheme for Female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped students who are pursuing NIELIT’s ‘O’ Level course as full time students. The scholarship amounts to Rs. 12,000/- which is given to students in two installments, provided they clear all papers in single attempts within the next two consecutive examinations after registration and the annual family income of student from all sources does not exceed rupees 2.50 lakhs.
